Why Hire A Doula?
Having a birth doula present reduces the likelihood of an unpleasant birth experience by prioritizing the comfort, emotional well-being, and agency of the birthing person.
The role of the doula is to learn your intentions for your birth and give you the information and support you need to better manifest that vision (while keeping in mind that at times the process is out of our direct control).
”What if I already have a spouse/partner/family member for support?”
Your doula can be as involved as you and your support team need and is ready to step in when they need a break, make suggestions when they’re unsure what to do, and check in on them if they become overwhelmed by the process.
A doula does not act as a medical professional, but can help you navigate what questions to ask your medical care provider.
